While staying fashionable is not the whole point of travelling, you certainly want to look great on all those photos you take. However, staying stylish can take a lot of time that you could be using to explore your destination or relax with your travel partners. So how can you have your cake and eat it? Here are a few travelling tips that will allow you to look amazing without taking too much of your precious vacation time.

Keep your skin fresh and plump

Freshness is the key to looking great on camera, so make sure to take some time out of your day to clean and moisturize your skin. Your skin doesn’t care that you’re on the road and it will ask to be fed properly. What you can do to provide your skin with what it needs is grab an oil-free moisturizer with Vitamin E. If you suffer from really dry skin, try treating it with a serum that prevents damage and dehydration. And of course, don’t forget to buy a few travel-sized containers so you can transfer your moisturizer and keep it in your bag at all times.

Eat well

You will look and feel how you eat, so try to eat cleanly and healthily even when you’re on the road. It can be tempting to grab a bag of chips or pretzels, but the salt and fat will only make you look bloated and even cause those unwanted breakouts. So, try to make a stop at a local market and grab some raw fruits and veggies—these will keep you full, hydrated and free of bloating and puffiness.

Dress up like a pro

Many stylish travellers avoid anything that remotely looks like sweatpants or hoodies, but if you choose well, you can still look absolutely amazing rocking these comfortable pieces. Simple black leggings and a baggy tee combined with a sweater is a fool-proof combination that will make you look effortlessly elegant yet keep you comfortable. Accessorize with some ‘it’ jewellery like aquamarine crystals and you’re done. If you’re curious about gems, you can learn more about aquamarine crystals and see how you can wear it best. Its mystical power and ethereal beauty can certainly help you look radiant on your trip.

Use lasting makeup

When you’re traveling, you won’t have time to do your makeup several times a day—morning makeup with one touch-up during the day is probably all the time you can afford. So, make sure to use quality makeup that will stay firmly on no matter what adventures you’re having during your day. Always use your primer and try to keep your look simple yet sweet. If you need a touch-up, put a loose powder in your bag. Also, when putting on travel makeup in the morning, take time to ‘bake’ your face while you do your hair—this will give you a more lasting look and prevent creasing.

Plan your hairdo

This is one of the most practical pieces of advice you can get. Before you leave your room, check the weather conditions and make sure to choose a hairdo that fits the weather. If you insist on curling your hair before heading out in intense Thailand or Indonesian weather, it will all be for nothing in a matter of minutes. If you’re travelling in humid weather of Southeast Asia countries, it’s best to be proactive and slick your hair back. Ponytails, braids and buns are always a good solution, especially when combined with plenty of bobby pins. This way, you’ll look fresh and put together even when you’re dripping with sweat.
