My Packing List for Travelling During Summer

As much as I love travelling during summer, I can’t deny the fact that the heat comes with its own set of challenges. If you are getting ready to travel in a country with a hot climate like Morocco, for example, then you need to make sure that you know how to prepare for the trip. But no need to worry about what to wear in the heat, we’re here to help. Today I will share with you my packing list for travelling during hot summer days.

My Top 5 Must-Haves for Traveling During Summer

#1 Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a must-have on any summer travel packing list, not just as a fashion accessory, but as a vital protection against the sun’s harsh rays. A good pair of sunglasses will protect your eyes from UV rays, which can be particularly strong during the summer months. Whether you’re walking through bustling streets or relaxing on a sunny beach, sunglasses help reduce glare and make your environment more comfortable to navigate.

Moreover, choosing sunglasses that complement your style while offering maximum protection is key. Look for pairs that block out 99% to 100% of both UVA and UVB rays. This will ensure your eyes are shielded from potential harm, allowing you to enjoy your adventures worry-free.

#2 Cooling Pyjamas

To keep comfortable during warm summer nights, cooling pyjamas are an excellent addition to your luggage. Made from materials that promote airflow and moisture wicking, they help regulate your body temperature, ensuring a good night’s sleep. This is especially useful in destinations where the nights remain warm, or in accommodations without air conditioning. If you not a pyjama type of person, then you should be pleased to know that Cool-Jams makes stylish women’s nightgowns that are moisture-wicking.

Selecting pyjamas that are lightweight and breathable will not only help you sleep better but will also take up minimal space in your suitcase. This makes them perfect for travellers who prefer to pack light. Plus, they are versatile enough to be worn for lounging during the day or even as a casual outfit when paired with the right accessories.

#3 Skirts and Kaftans

Skirts and kaftans are fantastic clothing choices for summer travel due to their versatility and comfort. They allow for excellent air circulation, which helps keep you cool during hot weather. They can be dressed up or down, making them suitable for both day explorations and evening outings. Packing a couple of skirts and kaftans in neutral colours or fun prints can enhance your travel wardrobe significantly.

The ease of mixing and matching skirts with different tops adds to their appeal, enabling you to create multiple outfits from a few basic pieces. This not only saves space in your suitcase but also gives you the flexibility to adjust your outfit to the occasion without overpacking.

#4 Bottle Protectors

For those who enjoy bringing back wine or spirits from their travels, bottle protectors are a practical solution to keep your bottles safe during transit. These protectors cushion your bottles, reducing the risk of breakage, and are a smart investment for anyone planning to transport liquids. They are particularly useful when traveling to or from regions known for their vineyards or distilleries.

Bottle protectors are typically lightweight, reusable, and easy to pack, making them a low-hassle addition to your travel gear. They can also be used to protect other fragile items such as perfumes or specialty food items, providing a versatile tool in your packing arsenal. This is why bottle protectors are a must have in my book.

#5 Shorts

Shorts are another essential for any summer travel wardrobe. They offer comfort, mobility, and ease of wear, which are crucial for active travellers. When choosing shorts, opt for lightweight fabrics and loose cuts to keep cool in warm climates. They are perfect for days spent outdoors, whether you’re hiking, sightseeing, or simply enjoying a day at the park.

Having a variety of shorts, from denim to moisture-wicking fabrics, allows you to be ready for any activity. They are easy to pair with tees, tanks, and sandals, creating effortless outfits that are both stylish and practical for summer adventures. What I really like about shorts is the fact that they are great for all summer activities. It doesn’t matter if you want to visit every restaurant in the city or go sightseeing in difficult to reach locations, you will always be able to do it in shorts.

Summing It Up

I know that packing is the least fun part about traveling, but believe me, this is an important skill that you need to master. Once you have packing down to perfection, then you will be able to travel the world and have everything you need in a simple suitcase. Nonetheless, I hope that my list of 5 essential items for traveling during summer will make your next vacation more pleasant.
